General Rules and Terms and Conditions – Universal Music for Creator’s (“UMC”) ‘Libsyn’ Promotion (the “Promotion”).

1. The Promotion will be communicated by Libsyn (“Partner”) via mailouts and website links (the “Marketing Communications”) to the Partner’s Registered Members.

2. Opening date for claims is 9:00am on 20th August, 2024. The closing date for claims is 12:00 on 20th February, 2025.

3. The promotion is open to all citizens of serviced territories by Universal Music for Creators, 18 years of age and over, who is a subscriber of the Partner’s services, and not already a customer of UMC and comply with the UMC license restrictions that are available HERE. The promotion is not open to UMC, Universal Music Group or the Partner employees and their associated, affiliated or subsidiary companies, and their families or agents.

4. Claims are limited to one per person. UMC reserves the right to reject any claim and/or refuse any claimants of the Promotion and/ or to require Claimants to provide proof of their age.

5. UMC will not be liable for any failure of receipt of code. UMC will not be liable for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind or lost or unavailable network connections, which may limit or prohibit an Eligible Claimant’s ability to participate in the Promotion. UMC shall not be liable for any loss or damage incurred as a result of this promotion, including without limitation any loss caused by any errors or changes made by third-party providers. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall limit UMC’s liability for death or personal injury caused by their employees or agents’ negligence or for fraud.

6. By claiming, Eligible Claimants to the Promotion agree to release and hold harmless UMC, their parents, subsidiaries and affiliated entities, directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents and representatives from any damage, injury, death, loss, claim, action, demand or other liability that may arise from their participation in this Promotion or from any misuse or malfunction of the Promotional Products.

7. UMC reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude claimants and withhold the Promotional Products for violating any of these Terms and Conditions and for reasons of obscenity, defamation and/or invasion of privacy. UMC reserves the right to amend these terms. Any amendments will be published on the UMC Promotion landing page.

8. Promotional Products: (i) 6 months subscription (“Free Period”) to Universal Music For Creator’s Pro Tier in the amount of one hundred and seventy nine dollars and ninety four cents ($179.94) or (ii) 6 months Universal Music for Creator’s Creator Tier in the amount of sixty five dollars and ninety four cents (£380.95). After the Free Period, users will be automatically enrolled into a full price monthly plan, unless cancelled prior to the renewal date. Claimants will be notified by email prior to their first renewal payment. Should a Claimant cancel their Subscription at any time during the Free Period, they will receive full access to the service until the end of that monthly cycle.

9. There is no other alternative to the Promotional Products stated. The Promotional Products are not transferable and no part or parts of the Promotional Product may be substituted for other benefits, cash, items or additions.

10. Uses of personal data received by UMC in the course of the Promotion are subject to the privacy policy.

11. By entering the Promotion all Eligible Entrants are deemed to have accepted and be bound by these General Terms.

12. UMC reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the Promotion if, in our sole discretion, a Promotion is not capable of being conducted as specified.

13. If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect. 

14. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

15. The owner of this Promotion is Universal Publishing Production Music Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with number [01568581].

Claims-free music means that once you buy a subscription license, no further royalties are due to be paid by you for the use of the tracks. Any content published within the terms of the license will remain copyright claims-free. Claims-free does not mean that no royalties are paid to Universal Music for Creators artists and songwriters.

When you upload a video to YouTube, YouTube automatically scans the video for any copyrighted material. Copyright owners hold the authority to determine the course of action when their owned work is matched with content in a YouTube video. This claim simply recognizes the presence of copyrighted music and does not mean that your video cannot be published or that there is anything wrong. With an active subscription on Universal Music for Creators, content published within the subscription term will be free from copyright claims. For us to recognize your content as licensed through Universal Music for Creators on YouTube, it is important that you link your channel or video to your subscription license. You can do this once you purchase a subscription on the confirmation page or add this in on the ‘Content ID’ section in your website account. If you have an active subscription but receive a claim, please check that the channel ID you have entered is correct. If everything looks right, then please get in touch through our website contact form detailing your email address, channel ID and Video ID.

You will continue to have access to our music and sound effects until your subscription is cancelled at the end of your current billing cycle. Any content you published during your active subscription will remain cleared to monetize forever. Using our music and sound effects after your subscription ends in any new content will be subject to claims. You can reactivate your subscription at any time to continue using our music claims-free.

Yes. Please note that if you cancel before the end of your free 6 months, you will lose access to the service at the end of your current monthly cycle.
